For the trade
For tea houses, tea bars, makers and organizations.
Be seen by people who care how tea is made and served. Here is how we choose, what we ask of you, and how we are paid.

How we choose
Selected, not ranked.
We feature a place or person when it answers at least four of these six questions well. There is no scoring and no ranking at launch.
- Craft. Is what is in the cup or glass exceptional?
- Provenance. Can they tell you where it comes from, and who made it?
- Hospitality. What does it feel like to sit there?
- Care. How do they treat people, land and water, and is there evidence?
- Distinctiveness. Is there something here that nobody else does?
- A person. Is there someone we can introduce by name?
Every story carries one of three labels at the top: Independent, Hosted (someone covered part of our visit, and we say what) or Partnership (we have a business relationship with the subject). Every fact has a source and a date. Before publishing, we send the subject the facts, not the opinions, with at least five working days to reply.
Be considered for a story
Send a nomination.
Nominate your house, your bar, your team or someone you admire. It is free, and sending one does not guarantee a story or influence one.

Support our work
How sponsorship works.
Sponsors support the whole guide, never a single story. Editors choose subjects, a sponsor is never the subject of a story, and sponsors do not see our selections in advance. Every sponsor is named here.
In our first years we take money only from readers, from education and events, and from sponsors outside tea. We take nothing from the places or makers we cover, and nothing from tourism boards. If that ever changes, we will say so on this page first.
